Brief Introduction
Germany stands as one of Europe’s largest, most mature, and most stable organic fertilizer markets. The country maintains rigorous environmental standards, imposing strict regulations on the processing of waste materials such as bio-waste, sewage sludge, and livestock manure. Concurrently, Germany boasts the largest area of organic farmland in Europe, generating a substantial demand for organic fertilizers.
Keenly recognizing this market opportunity, the German client decided to invest in the construction of an organic fertilizer production line. Their objective was to fully leverage abundant local organic waste resources—transforming them into high-value organic fertilizer granules—to supply both the domestic market and surrounding regions.
After conducting extensive research and comparisons, the client ultimately chose to partner with us. They commissioned us to custom-design and build a 3–4 tons/hour organic fertilizer production line, specifically engineered to process livestock manure—along with agricultural residues such as crop stalks and straw—into granulated fertilizer.

Process Flow of Organic Fertilizer Production Line in Germany
The organic fertilizer production line designed by RICHI for this German customer features an automated control system and encompasses a comprehensive and efficient process covering crushing, batching and mixing, pelletizing, cooling, screening, and packaging. All processes are smoothly connected.

1
Fermentation & Maturation Process:
First, put raw materials such as livestock manure, straw, rice husk and food waste into a fermentation tank for high-temperature fermentation to kill bacteria and insect eggs and remove odors. During fermentation, a compost turner is used to continuously turn the materials.
2
Batching Process:
Add trace elements (NPK) or probiotics to adjust the nutrient ratio of the fertilizer.
3
Crushing Process:
Crush the fermented materials into uniform powder to improve the subsequent pelleting effect.
4
Mixing Process:
Mix the crushed materials with trace elements evenly.
5
Pelleting Process:
Feed the well-mixed materials into the organic fertilizer pellet mill. Under the pressure of the ring die and press rollers, the materials are extruded from the die holes to form long strips. At the same time, cutters outside the ring die cut the long strips into small pellets of uniform length as preset.
6
Cooling & Screening Process:
Send the newly pressed high-temperature organic fertilizer pellets into a counterflow pellet cooler to cool down to room temperature. The cooled pellets are screened by a vibrating sieve to obtain qualified products. Oversized or undersized pellets are recycled for secondary processing.
7
Packaging Process:
An automatic packing machine weighs and bags the finished pellets according to the preset weight, with each bag being 20 kg or 50 kg.
