Working Process of Fish Feed Production Line
A fish feed production line is an integrated system engineered to convert raw ingredients—such as fishmeal, soybean meal, grains, vitamins, and other nutritional additives—into uniform, nutrient-dense aquatic feed pellets.
This is achieved through a sequenced process that includes raw material cleaning, crushing, batching and mixing, conditioning, extrusion or pelleting, cooling, and final screening and packaging.

Raw Material Cleaning

During precleaning, various impurities mixed in the raw materials such as stones, metal fragments, rope pieces are removed to protect both the production line equipment and ensuring the hygiene and quality of the final feed.
Crushing

Cleaned raw materials are crushed to 80-120 meshes by an ultra-fine grinder to improve feed digestibility. Finer crushing makes pellets denser (more water-resistant) and supports uniform mixing later.
Batching and Mixing

After the crushed raw materials are weighed according to the formula, they are sent to the mixer. High-speed stirring ensures the materials are evenly mixed, guaranteeing balanced nutrition.
Conditioning

Mixed raw materials enter the conditioner, where they are mixed with steam to achieve sterilization, curing, and gelatinization—enhancing the digestibility and safety of the feed. Meanwhile, the conditioned materials become softer and more plastic, facilitating pelletizing.
Extrusion/Pelleting

Both extruders and feed pellet mills can be used for pelletizing. Extruders produce feed that is porous and loose, which can be used as floating fish feed. Pellet mills produce fish feed with strong water absorption, which can only be used as sinking fish feed.
Drying

The moisture content of extruded pellets is 20%-30%. Hot air generated by a dryer is required to reduce the moisture of the pellets (both on the surface and inside) to approximately 10%, facilitating safe storage.
Coating

RICHI fish feed line uses post-spraying technology to protect heat-sensitive nutrients from thermal processing damage. Moreover, the extruded porous pellets have strong adsorption, greatly increasing oil addition.
Cooling

The coated pellets are at a relatively high temperature and need to be cooled by a counterflow cooler to near ambient temperature before packaging. This prevents condensation and mold growth, and maintains pellet crispness.
Screening and Packaging

The cooled finished pellets are passed through a vibrating screen to separate broken fines and off-spec particles, ensuring uniform size of the final product. The screened-out fines can be returned to the production process for reuse. The qualified finished feed is then weighed by an automatic packaging scale, filled into feed bags, and sealed.

Fish feed Grinder
An ultra-fine grinder is a high-efficiency crushing equipment that can grind materials to an extremely fine particle size. It can crush raw materials to 80-200 meshes—the finer the crushed particle size, the denser the structure of the extruded feed pellets and the better their water resistance.

Fish feed Mixer
It achieves uniform material mixing through the high-speed rotation of two intermeshing screws, ensuring balanced nutrition. Additionally, the forced conveying structure of the twin screws reduces material residue and enables continuous production.

Fish feed Dryer
Freshly pressed feed pellets have high temperature and high moisture content, making them prone to bacterial growth. RICHI horizontal circulation dryer adopts intelligent temperature control technology, achieving efficient dehydration through stable and uniform hot air while preventing nutrient damage caused by overheating.

Vertical Vacuum Coater
The RICHI-XYPLC series vertical vacuum coaters are capable of adding coated oils (fish oil, corn oil) and liquid biological agents (vitamins, amino acids, antioxidants) to feed, enhancing the feed’s palatability and nutritional value-added. The oil coating amount can be precisely controlled (0-6%), and the coating is uniform without caking.

Counterflow pellet Cooler
Utilizing a principle where pellets and cooling air move in opposite directions, this equipment effectively prevents high-temperature pellets from cracking due to sudden cooling. A distributor installed at the top avoids excessive pile-up of pellets, ensuring uniform cooling.

Bucket Elevator
