Working Process of Organic Fertilizer Pellet Making Machine
The core function of fertilizer pellet machine is to process pretreated organic raw materials (after fermentation, decomposition, crushing, mixing, etc.) into solid granular fertilizers through high-speed extrusion and cutting.
Here’s how the fertilizer pellet machine works.
First , it’s feeding stage. The fermented and loose organic fertilizer powder is poured into a feeder at the top of the granulator. The feeder is equipped with an anti-arching device, which continuously stirs the materials during the feeding process to prevent caking.
Next ,the materials enter the pelleting chamber. As the ring die rotates, the raw materials are continuously brought into the gap between the pressure roller and the ring die. Under high pressure, the materials are extruded through the die holes of the ring die to form long strips.
Finally, a high-speed cutter is installed on the outer side of the ring die. The length of the finished granules can be precisely controlled by adjusting the distance between the cutter and the ring die.

The fertilizer pellets just pressed into shape are not yet set and cannot be directly packaged. They still needs to go through post-processing steps such as drying, cooling, and screening. The temperature and moisture content of the fertilizer pellets remain high after cutting, so they need to be immediately fed into a dryer and a cooler. This process reduces the moisture content to below 15% and cools the pellets to near room temperature using cold air.
After cooling, the fertilizer pellets must be screened by a vibrating screen to remove a small amount of unformed powder and large-sized pellets, resulting in the final qualified fertilizer pellet product.
