Work Process of Animal Feed Production Line
The complete animal feed production line involves multiple steps: raw material cleaning → batching → raw material crushing → mixing → pelleting → cooling → screening and packaging.

Raw Material Cleaning

Freshly delivered raw materials (corn, wheat, sorghum, soybean meal, wheat bran, etc.) may be mixed with stones, weeds, metal fragments, and even moldy particles. These impurities can damage equipment or cause animal health issues, so screening and cleaning are necessary.
Crushing

The cleaned raw materials remain too hard and have uneven particle sizes, making them unsuitable for direct mixing and pelleting. To solve this, they need to be ground into uniform fine powder by a feed crusher.
Batching & Mixing

The crushed raw materials are accurately weighed and proportioned according to the formula. The proportioned raw materials are then put into a mixer, and uniformly mixed through high-speed stirring.
Pelleting

Raw materials are fed into the conditioner at a constant speed via a frequency-conversion feeder. Inside, they mix with steam for sterilization, cooking and gelatinization, then enter the pelleting chamber.
Next, the ring die and pressure roller extrude the powder through the die holes into strip pellets. Finally, an adjustable cutter outside the ring die trims them to the set length.
Cooling

The temperature of pellets after pelleting is approximately 80°C, which need to be cooled by a cooling system (counterflow cooler). Ambient air passes through the pellet layer to lower the pellet temperature to near room temperature.
The cooling process not only facilitates subsequent packaging operations but also reduces the moisture content of pellets to prevent mold growth.
Screening and Packging

After cooling, the pellets go through a screening device to remove fine impurities.
The fine residues and unqualified pellets are recycled for reprocessing, while qualified pellets are sent to the finished product silo.
The qualified finished pellets are accurately weighed, packaged, and sealed by a bagging scale.

Materials Precleaner
Materials precleaner is placed in the pre-processing section of the feed production line and used for the initial cleaning of feed raw materials.
It removes impurities such as hemp ropes, stones, and plastics from the raw materials, clearing obstacles for subsequent processing links and preventing impurities from clogging or damaging equipment.

Crusher
A feed crusher can grind lumpy and hard feed raw materials into uniform fine powder or small particles, facilitating the uniform mixing of various subsequent raw materials.
Poultry or livestock feed generally requires grinding to a particle size of 1-6 mm, and a water-drop crusher is usually used. For aquatic feed, an ultra-fine crusher is needed, which can achieve a grinding fineness of up to 200 mesh.

feed Mixer
The mixer is mainly used to fully blend various crushed raw materials (including grains, protein raw materials, and additives), ensuring that every pellet of feed contains balanced nutritional components while providing materials with uniform texture for the subsequent pelleting process.
Common types of mixers include single-shaft/twin-shaft paddle mixers, ribbon mixers, and vertical mixers.

Animal Feed Pellet Machine
The pellet machine extrudes materials forcefully through die holes via the extrusion of the ring die and pressure roller, forming long strip-shaped pellets. These pellets are then cut into uniform lengths by a cutter.
The core components are made of high-quality alloy steel and equipped with the Siemens motor, enabling continuous and stable operation, as well as producing dense, solid finished pellets of excellent quality.

pellet Cooling Machine
A counterflow cooler is equipped with multiple layers of sieve plates inside. Pellets fall evenly from the top feed inlet, while cold air flows upward in the opposite direction from the bottom air inlet.
This mode can stably cool the pellet temperature to near room temperature, which makes the pellets harder, providing a guarantee for subsequent processing, storage, and feed quality assurance.

Feed Screening machine
Screener is generally placed below coolers and equipped with three layers of screens. It use mechanical vibration to separate finished pellets, powder, and large-sized particles, ensuring the size of delivered products meets standards.
The separated powder and large-sized particles are recycled for secondary processing.

Packaging Equipment
The fully automatic packing scale is equipped with high-precision sensors and an intelligent control system. It can automatically receive the finished pellets after cooling and screening, and perform accurate metering according to the preset rated weight.
The sealing device can choose heat-sealing or sewing according to the type of packing bag selected by the customer.

Conveyor
Conveying devices transport feed raw materials or pellets to the next processing stage.
Main types include: Bucket Elevator (vertical lifting), U-Type Screw Conveyor (short-distance horizontal/inclined conveying for powders), Belt Conveyor (high-capacity, low-angle conveying for bulk materials), Edge-Belt Conveyor (short-distance, high-incline conveying for finished pellets).

Storage silo
Storage silos are used for storing raw materials or finished pellets. The pre-pelletizing storage silo features a homogenization function, which balances moisture variations in the materials to ensure stable pellet production.
RICHI storage silos also have air cannons—these release high-pressure air instantly to fix clogging, bridging, and adhesion inside.
