01
Ring Die
Made of 42 CrMo wear-resistant alloy steel to resist abrasion from hard raw materials, extending service life by 30–50% compared to ordinary dies.
Die hole diameters range from φ1.5 to φ12 (2–4 mm for starter chicks, 3–5 mm for layers/broilers) to match the feeding habits of different chicken groups.

02
Press Roller
Processed via CNC laser cutting for uniform fit between press roller and ring die.
Wear-resistant alloy steel resists long-term abrasion from corn, soybean meal and other raw materials.
Customizable—roller parameters adjusted for varied chicken feed formulas to suit diverse production scenarios.

03
Feed Auger
The auger speed can be regulated via a frequency converter to match different production capacities (1–40 TPH) and adapt to various feed formulas (e.g., high-fiber organic chicken feed requires slower feeding to ensure full extrusion).
It prevents material accumulation or insufficient feeding, which would lead to low production efficiency or hollow pellets.

04
Conditioner
Equipped with a multi-layer paddle structure to ensure full contact between raw materials and steam, avoiding localized overheating or under-conditioning that would affect pellet quality.

05
Main Motor
Adopts high-efficiency variable-frequency motor, with power ranging from 22 kW (small household machines) to 315 kW (industrial production lines).
It offers energy-saving operation, reducing power consumption by 15–20%.

06
Cutting Knife Assembly
The knife distance from the die surface can be fine-tuned to adapt to different production speeds and pellet hardness requirements.
The cutting blades are made of wear-resistant alloy material and undergo special surface treatment, ensuring long-lasting durability.
How the Chicken Feed Pellet Making Machine Works
A chicken feed pellet making machine compresses mixed powdered feed into pellets via mechanical force. Its core goals: boost feed nutrition, enhance palatability, ease storage/transport, cut feeding waste, and eliminate pathogens through instant high-temperature, high-pressure processing.
Here’s how the chicken feed pellet machine works.
First, load the powdered feed raw materials into the feed hopper. Equipped with a variable-frequency speed regulator, the hopper continuously and uniformly conveys the powder to the conditioner based on preset output volumes and the load conditions of the downstream conditioner and main motor.
Secondly, inside the conditioner, the powder mixes fully with injected steam and water. Agitating paddles propel the material forward, extending its residence time in the conditioner. This conditioning process achieves gelatinization, maturation, and sterilization of the feed material, which boosts pellet formation rate and safety, as well as improves feed palatability and digestibility.
Thirdly, the conditioned material enters the pelleting chamber. Forced through ring die holes by the strong squeeze of the ring die and press rollers, it forms dense cylinders. By replacing the ring die with alternatives of different hole diameters, pellets of varying sizes can be produced to meet the feeding requirements of chickens at different growth stages.
Finally, continuous cylinders exiting the die are cut into set lengths by high-speed rotating knives once exposed. The pellet length can be precisely controlled by adjusting the distance between the knives and the ring die surface.

Freshly formed chicken feed pellets are high in temperature and moisture content, with a soft texture, making them unfit for direct storage. They must be cooled down to room temperature in a pellet cooler.
After cooling, the pellets pass through a grading screen to remove fine powder and oversized pellets. Qualified finished pellets are transferred to the product bin, while the collected powder and off-spec pellets are recycled for reprocessing.

–
What is the standard production capacity of your chicken feed pellet making machine (T/H)? Is the production capacity adjustable?
RICHI chicken feed pellet making machine offers a wide capacity range of 1–40 T/H, with the specific standard output depending on the selected model (e.g., SZLH420/508/678, etc.). All models are equipped with variable-frequency feeders and conditioners, allowing for infinitely adjustable production capacity by regulating feed speed, steam addition, and die rotation speed to match different production plans.
–
How adaptable are RICHI chicken feed pellet mill to different feed formulations? How easy is it to adjust the machine when changing formulations? (For example: high-fiber poultry feed, high-protein broiler feed)
Our chicken feed pellet mill performs excellently with common formulas such as high-fiber poultry feed and high-protein broiler feed:
- Automation Core: Key process parameters like batching, mixing, and pelleting are automatically controlled by PLC/computer, ensuring formula accuracy and process stability.
- Manpower Requirement: A medium-sized line (10-15 tons per hour) typically requires only 2-3 operators for control room monitoring and necessary patrols, significantly reducing reliance on skilled labor and labor costs.
- Advanced Options: We can provide intelligent solutions including manufacturing execution system, production data traceability, and remote fault diagnosis.
When switching formulas, adjustments to die compression ratio, cutter position, and conditioning parameters are typically required. Trained operators can complete these changes quickly.
–
What materials are the ring die and pressure rollers made of?
Ring die and press roller assembly of RICHI chicken feed pellet machine are made from high-chromium alloy steel (42CrMo) and undergo carburizing, quenching, and precision grinding. This results in wear resistance that is more than 50% higher than that of ordinary materials.
–
