How the Cat Litter Pellet Machine Works
Cat litter pellet machine adopts the die-pressing forming process, which can press raw materials such as wood chips, straw, soybean meal, soybean residue, wood shavings, bentonite and silica gel into granular cat litter.
The pelleting process for cat litter pellets made from different raw materials varies slightly, but the core steps all include : feeding → conditioning → extrusion forming → cutting.
First , the crushed raw material is evenly fed through a top-mounted feeder into the conditioner. The feeder is equipped with an anti-bridging device. For woody materials, a forced feeder is additionally installed to push the material into the pelleting chamber, effectively preventing clogging and ensuring continuous and efficient operation.
Next, it’s conditioning. This step is usually used for mineral materials. Inside the conditioner, the material is mixed with steam and vigorously agitated by high-speed dual-shaft paddles. This process fully softens and gelatinizes the material, enhancing its plasticity and adhesion to ensure the resulting pellets are firm and resistant to breaking apart.
Then, the conditioned material is then conveyed into the pelleting chamber. There, it is strongly compressed between the ring die and press rollers, forcing it through the die holes to form dense, solid strands.
Finally, when raw materials are extruded from the die holes of the ring die to form long strips, the synchronized cutter will immediately cut these extruded strips accurately according to preset parameters, finally producing finished pellets with uniform length and regular shape.
